Not to get all mystical on you or anything, but I truly believe that people are just meant to do certain things. I have known for a long time now that what I like best is teaching people stuff. Figuring out a tough antibody, solving a strange donor issue, or helping a clinician manage a transfusion problem by myself is cool, but sitting with a student and explaining the same issues in such a way that I get to see the light go in in their eyes is simply better than anything else I do on a professional level.
Unfortunately, I will never have that opportunity with most of you, unless you move to Colorado (and trust me, you don't really want to do that! It's cold and people wear orange-colored horse-heads during football season!). So, this site is just my attempt to show you some things that will help you learn more about blood banking, hopefully in ways that will help "the light go on" in your eyes, too.
