Osler Blood Bank Lecture 2011
If you are thinking of attending the Osler Institute Pathology Review Course and are wondering whether or not I will be giving the blood bank lectures, this page will give you a bit of early information about my schedule for 2011.
I plan to be giving the blood bank lecture at three of the four Osler Institute Pathology Review courses in 2011, as follows:
     Los Angeles, March 2011 (done)
     Chicago, April 2011 (done)
     Tampa, October 2011
Obviously, this means that I do NOT plan to be at the course in Philadelphia in August 2011.
If you want to get a little head start, you can download the notes for the spring courses now.
I have been giving the blood bank review lecture for Osler since the spring of 1996. Doing so is one of the truly great joys of my professional life! I have interacted with thousands of pathology residents preparing for boards as well as hundreds of pathologists looking for a general review over that time. I am incredibly honored that so many people have told me that the lectures and notes have been helpful in their board preparation. My schedule has become more limited recently, and there may be courses that I just can't get to (like Philadelphia this year), but I am hopeful of continuing to work with Osler for a number of years to come.
Finally, please believe me when I tell you that I'm not arrogant enough to believe that any of you are sitting at home saying, "If that Chaffin guy ain't talking, I ain't going!", but I just wanted to give you fair warning of when I will and won't be at the individual courses, in case you care! Thank you for your understanding.
